12 - TWO SPEED CHANGE
1. First speed:
..........full speed at maximum rate
..........of climb:...........................:....................Up to 3400 metres
..........Cruising:...........................:....................Less than 5500 metres.
1. Second speed:
..........full speed at maximum rate
..........of climb:...........................:....................Over to 3400 metres
..........Cruising:...........................:....................Over 5500 metres.
3. The change over must be done quickly and accurately.
4. RPM for the change: below 2200
5. Boost pressure for the change: about zero
6. Oil inlet temperature: below 75°.
7. After changing (maintain speed ?) for over three minutes.
8. Changeover time must be within three seconds.
9. Do not fail to change to first (primary) speed when below 3400 metres.
10. In an emergency, nominal boost pressure is permissible.
11. When the change as been made, watch the boost gauge needle and also the fuel.
12. Watch for vapour locks (fuel pressure).
13 - STOPPING THE ENGINE
1. Cooling: Run the engine at less than 800 RPM untill the cylinder temperature is below 180°.
2. Put the propeller in fully coarse pitch (after running for a while).
3. Close the throttle.
4. Open the altitude lever fully (for a quick stop). (May be "altitude lever" has nothing to do with the
supercharger, but is rather the mixture lever.)
5. Press the booster push button. (?)
6. Switch off.
