10 - LANDING
1. Slide the cockpit cover back (speed should be below 300 km/hr) and readjust the tabs (elevator slightly raised).
.2. Reduce the speed to something below 300 km/hr.
3. Open the flaps to 15°.
4. When the undercarriage is lowered, the speed should be less than 250 km/hr.
.........(a) Set the safety lock to"Down".
.........(b) Set the hydraulic pressure change cock to "Down".
.........(c) The indicator light will be green (hydraulic pressure 60 kg/cm2) Watch for the projection of the
.........undercarriage position indicator. (on top of wing)
.........(d) Set the change cock back to "Neutral" (30 seconds after operation).
.........(e) If the undercarriage fails to function, use the emergency pump.
5. Set the propeller pitch to 90% (for landing). (2000 - 2100 RPM)
6. Open the flaps fully at 220 - 230 km/hr
7. Descend gradually.
8. Carefully observe the vicinity of the landing area.
9. At approximately 20 metres above the ground your speed should be about 180 km/hr.
10. Touching down speed will be about 150 - 160 km/hr at which banking should not be attempted.
11. Close the throttle completely.
12. Keep the flaps up when taxying (and use the brakes if necessary).
13. Unlock the tail wheel.
14. Take off your safety belt and look carefully in all directions.
15. Taxy in the vicinity of the warm up line at the prescribed speed (? ground crew speed).
16. Stop and chock up.
17. If you have to go round again (circle the field, that is, without landing):
.........(a) Make up your mind promptly and fully open the throttle before getting below 100 metres.
.........(b) Set your speed to more than 200 km/hr and the flaps to 15°.
.........(c) Retract the undercarriage.
.........(d) Close the flaps completely when the speed is more than 250 km/hr.
